Saint Paul’s Steps
Join us as we visit the trail of towns where Saint Paul preached and founded the first Christian communities and churches and where he dictated epistles to the newly illumined Christians.

1st Day – Samothrace
ACTS, 16:11: Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;
Upon our arrival to the airport of Alexandroupolis, we will transfer to the port and after a short boat trip we arrive in Samothrace. We will tour the ancient sites and the island, taste the local cuisine call it a day.
2nd Day – Philippi
ACTS: 16:12: And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.
According to the Acts of the Apostles, Paul escorted by Timothy, Silas and Luke the Evangelist, arrived at the town of Philippi in the winter around 49-50A.D.
The Church of Philippi is the first Christian Church in Europe and it is here that the first European Christian woman was baptized. One can witness the baptismal font to this day. Tour the ancient sites.
3rd Day - Apollonia
ACTS: 17:1, Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews
Following the steps of the great Apostle, another stop is the ancient town of Apollonia which is located south of Lake Volvi. We will tour the town and the greater lake area which is of exquisite natural beauty.
4th Day – Thessaloniki
ACTS, 17:1: Now when they had passed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where was a synagogue of the Jews: Acts, 17:1
Thessaloniki, "Homeland of Macedonia" becomes an important stop of the Apostle of Nations, Paul as two of his epistles are addressed to the Thessalonians. In this city, which is a spiritual center and also a trader center of the Balkans, we will have the opportunity to tour and visit many sites from antiquity, the Macedonian Dynasty, the Byzantine and post-Byzantine history as well as contemporary history.
5th Day - Veroia
ACTS, 17:10: And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
After Thessaloniki, Paul along with Silas reached the ancient town of Veroia. In Veroia, we will visit the "Bema of Saint Paul" that is survived to this day and becomes a pilgrim point for every faithful who wants to touch through the steps of the great Apostle.
Close by to Veroia, is Pella, the birthplace of Alexander the Great and Vergina the first capital city of the ancient Macedonians. Tour the archeological sites.
6th Day – Athens
ACTS, 17:15-34: Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.
23: For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.
The "Acts of the Apostles" chapter 17:15-34 describe Paul's steps in Athens.
Athens, for those who love ancient civilizations and Christianity, the uniqueness of the city's combination becomes a top priority destination. We will visit Areios Pagos (ancient Athenian court) which Paul spoke and taught to the Athenians about the Unknown God; the Acropolis, the new Acropolis Museum, and continue our tour through the historic center of Athens.
7th and 8th Day - Corinth
1: After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth;
Leaving back the academic and philosophic Athenian atmosphere of the time, the Apostle headed off to Corinth, another big city of the time.
We will visit the port of Kehrees, where Paul founded the "church of the Kechres". In the ancient city of Corinth we will visit ruins of a significant
Early Christian Era basilica of the 4th century A.D.
8th and 9th Day - Crete
In this beautiful island of Greece, Crete, the Apostle of Nations came across from Asia Minor on his way to Rome. We will visit the port of "Kaloi Limenes" where his boat came to shore after rough seas and the cave where he spent the night.
We will also visit the church of Saint Titus and venerate his cara. Saint Titus was ordained by Saint Paul as the first bishop of Crete who preached Christianity to the island.
10th Day – Free day
11th Day – Departure
